Explore the history of the Holocaust by taking an inquiry-based walk through the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center which highlights the necessity of a thorough understanding of history as a platform for social action. Girl Scouts will investigate the experiences of Holocaust survivors, witnesses, resistors and rescuers through artifacts and testimony. They will analyze the human and moral implications of individual choice, responsibility and memory through connecting galleries and themes. The tour will empower Girl Scouts to become agents of change, stand up against hatred, prejudice and injustice, and provide a foundation for engaging in positive social action and the ability to make a difference in their world today.
